Lexus ES300 White smoke out the exhaust no milky substance in oil

We have had this car for about 2 weeks. This week it developed a cooling problem. We have white smoke coming out the exhaust, there is no milky substance in the oil. (oil looks great). Car is over heating and boiling over. We were thinking it was a head gasket but without the milky oil maybe not. Could it be the intake manifold? If so what are the symtoms? Any help is appreaciated

We bought the car used, the guy didn't know what kind was in the radiator. We have since drained and flushed the radiator out. We have check the thermostat and it is fine. When we first checked the radiator it was gooey but that has since been flushed out. How can we tell if the head gasket it bad or is the head is cracked?

It could be the intake gaskets or even still the head gasket. How about the coolant ? Did you refill with same type coolant ? Have you noticed if it's thick and gooey ? mixing coolants will sometimes produce a thick gooey coolant that clogs up the cooling system. If the car ran hot it could also be a cracked head or block. Warped heads also. Somehow the coolant seems to be getting into the cylinder(s).

Do you have to ad coolant very offen? White smoke may be an indication of engine coolant getting into the compression chamber.Sometimes you can remove the oil filler cap and look at the underside of it for a white milky residue
if its there you should have a shop look at it and take a compression test.Hope this helps.

What caused white smoke from exhaust?

Generally, white smoke is engine coolant burning. If it only happened for a few seconds, you may have leaked some on the exhaust pipes.
I would check the engine oil and coolant levels with the engine cold, and then look for coolant leaks.

What color smoke? black = fuel blue = oil white = water. oil is not always milky with head problem if thats what you are getting at. Does it start rough (misfireing) then clear up?

Have a 93 Lexus es300 white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe.

White smoke usually indicates water in the oil.
You should pull your oil dipstick and see if you see water bubbles on the stick

There is white smoke coming from the exhaust shooting out a watery substance. the white smoke gets worse as i drive it. there is no water in the oil or milky sludge build up and dont need to add water.

This acts and sounds suspiciously like a blown head gasket. You can't fix it if it is. I suggest you check your oil for water (pull the dip stick, is the oil milky white?). Get your car to your mechanic as soon as you reasonably can before you cause much more damage if this is a blown head gasket.

WHITE SMOKE INDICATE SLIGHT HEAD GASKET.STOP SMOKING WHEN ENGINE GET HOT.HEAD EXPANDS ENOUGH TO STOP THE LEAK.BUT I SEEN CASES WHERE THE HEADS HAD TO BE PRE TORQUE AFTER ENGINE OVERHAUL.ALSO YOUR ENGINE WILL USE OIL UNTIL PISTON RINGS SEAT.SO KEEP EYE ON OIL LEVEL.

Why does my engine emits white smoke when I press *** the pedal is the valvepiston ring sleeve at fault?

No. What kind of vehicle is it? White smoke in the exhaust is actually steam, which is caused from your engine burning coolant. The most common causes of this are blown head gasket or a cracked head. Check your coolant level and have a coolant system pressure test done to confirm.

When I start my 2003 ES300 smoke comes out the exhaust

The same thing happened to my 2003 ES300 - the smoke is coming from the oil seeping into the motor's cylinders. This is the classic "Oil Gelling" problem in Toyota and Lexus vehicles. There is a factory recall on it, but it only covers to 2002 ES300 not 2003. The Lexus dealer confirmed my "oil gel" problem and went to bat for me with Lexus - they got the repair approved - Thank you Mr Local Lexus Dealer! The cost was nearly $4,000 - paid for by Lexus.

How to fix a blown head gasket on a mazda rx8 just went out to star my can and nothing there is yellow stuff on the dip stick

the is no headgasket on a rotary engine....This milky substance does not affect engine performance or any other functions of the vehicle. During cold weather, moisture contained in blow-by gases (exhaust , oil, fuel, water vapor) is cooled by the intermediate housing wall and condenses due to difference in temperature. A chemical reaction between the moisture reacts and the engine oil in the intermediate housing will yield the milky fluid. This fluid then eventually dissipates
as the engine warms up to full operating temperature.

The milky fluid does not affect the quality of the engine oil and therefore the engine performance is not affected either. Mazda has verified that the amount of moisture in the oil is within the acceptable standard for motor oils commonly found in the market.

However, you should verify that the coolant reservoir is full and that there is no sign of engine coolant leakage.

You can also go to you Mazda dealer and ask for a new oil level gauge tube plastic insert which has been developed as a countermeasure to keep the milky substance off of the dipstick (however, the substance will still be in there- it's a cosmetic fix only).

'92 Lexus Es 300 - White smoke from exhaust and smells like gas.

It's the ECU. Very common with the early '90s lexus cars. Everyone will say head gasket, but unless your oil is milky white, it's not coolant leaking into the cylinder.
Buy an ECu on ebay for less than $100, it plugs in under the dash, just like a computer printer. Easy fix.
