Went to turn on the car nothing happens. It seemed like the battery was dead, but the car alarm horn was disconnected. Hazard lights kept flashing even when I put the key in the ignition.
Aftermarket alarm??? Have it taken out and the vehicle put back to stock. Once those types of alarms get old they tend to fail
How do you know if it is an aftermarket alarm??
Does the keyless entry button on your key have a Toyota symbol? If it does then it stock
if it does not then its aftermarket

If this is a factory alarm try using the the key in the door lock and turning the door lock manually. I have seen this issue in chrysler models as well. If this does not work try replacing the batteries in the key fob as this will cause falfunctions as well.

I have the same problem. I put some graphite down the key hole and pushed it around in there and it loosened it up a bit to the point I could turn the ignition. If you have a replacement key, start using that. It should help as well.Teeth on old key may be wearing down. Lastly, I keep a screwdriver in the car to whack against key when it's in the ignition if it's stuck. A few taps on the key will always unlock the ignition.
Or, go but a new ignition and key set....

This sound like a more common issue than we in the mr2 community would like to see. The cars are old and the ground wires tend to wear out. But normally the gas pedal cable becomes the place were it grounds out and start a fire. get a cheap ground wire kit for the engine compartment as well as put a few on the battery. Also check existing ground wires. Hope this helps!

I have tried locking and unlocking the doors outside if it is aftermarket alarm, but nothing happens, It just keeps flashing its hazard lights at me.
I do not have a FOB either, and I charged the battery fully but that seems not change anything. The siren alarm was disconnected a while back, so all it does is flash its lights at me, the valet switch doesn't seem to change anything also. Driving me nuts!! D: thank you for all your feedback I really appreciate it!!!
