take the truck to an auto zone. They will scan will scan it for free. Post the code they give you and ill let you know where to go from there. Dont let them sell you any parts till you get some advice from me or someone else who knows what there talking about. It is possible who ever replaced the t-stat knocked something loose, but without knowing what the reason for replacing the thermostat, its hard to say for sure. Was the check engine light on? Did the truck over heat? Did the truck not heat up? any more info you can give would be helpful.

Blower motor, cuts out after it runs for a while.

Sounds like the motor speed control is going bad (resistors near the motor) or the motor itself is going bad, maybe bearing in it. Check the resistor control to see if it appears to be melted any.

91bmw 3181 coolant drained. Connection fr rad to motor appears to have broken at motor. Not enough to connect back up. Piece on motor too short. Is it much work to replace the piece on the motor

At the motor? That is odd. Is the part plastic? BMW currently sells a metal thermostat cover for this car. The 6-cyl BMWs used a plastic thermostat cover which failed routinely.
The BMW thermostat cover should cost you about $50 at the dealer or $40 on line. Gasket is sold separately. You will want to replace the thermostat while you have the thermostat cover off.

Heater does not work

The heater not working. This problem is related to few possibilities 1) The thermostat can be faulty. 2) the heater blower motor resistor is faulty 3) The heater blower motor it self is faulty. ------------ The The blower resistor is behind glove-box on plenum.Connect the 12 volt battery directly to the heater blower motor and see,if the motor runs then its faulty resistor or thermostat.but if no motor running then its faulty motor. The thermostat is located at the top front of the engine. For easy access follow the top radiator hose. The top radiator hose goes in engine .Take that hose out and thermostat will be seen inside. --------- The thermostat and resistor are not very costly part.So you can directly replace them and see if its helping.First confirm motor is working,by directly by passing the blower motor to 12 volt battery. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
