Question about 1993 Buick Century
I know that the ECM is compatible with different types of GM but the PROM is that only compatible with the model of the vehicle or is it specific to the VIN of the vehicle in other words can it come out of the junk yard or does it have to come from a dealer thank you
there are many places to get a new button but removng and replacing is as easy as using a needle nose pliers pull the old one out and the new one just pluges right in also here is a link to get your self a new one.

if the prongs don't match;yes. you get the gm numbers off of the ecm, and let them interchange it. then ask to see a picture on the computer to see if it's the same. sometimes they do get boxed wrong.

On the right side of the odometer there is a round silver motor that is held on with 2 phillips screws. Remove that and you can access the gear pod and manually spin it to where you need it.

it is located on the side of the transmission case, it has a vacuum hose going to it, make sure that hose is good and has vacuum from the engine going to the modulator, here is a picture of the modulator so u can ID it.
