Re: I need to know what fuses control the horn in my car
From page 130 of my UK spec Focus manual (Right-hand drive): -
Central fuse box is located on the left hand side underneath the instrument panel .
Open the glove compartment. Push in both sides of the glove compartment and swivel it down completely.
The fuses are behind.
The horn and power seats are on fuse number 33, coloured yellow and rated at 20 Amps.

There is also a labeled HORN relay in the fuse box next to the battery... the fuse box is long and rectangular. The inside of the lid has the diagram for both the fuses and relays it contains. The other is a fuse panel under the dashboard on the driver's side. It cover lights and a few other items. The fuses are labeled, but the relays are NOT. One of the relays, controls the emergency hazard flashers. You need to check both places and replace any fuse that states HORN and the HORN relay, to be sure the problem goes away.
Before you rewire a new horn Check the fuse to make sure its not blown. I recently had the same problem. I found that there are two fuse boxes. One being inside the cab, one being under the hood. there should be a black box under the hood. horn should be one of the 10 amp fuses. mine had a diagram on the lid that told me which one to check.
Check the STEERiNG PAD HORN, the single wire in there might have disconnected and needs to reconnect or the terminal is corroded and oxidize. Checking the terminal wire in the steering wheel, just ground the wire and the horn must goes off!
In the fuse box next to the battery 4th fuse up- the little fuses, not the medium or the large ones. The fuse box under the hood can be found by following the red wire that comes off the battery and only goes about 12 inches..
The fuse box is located under the engine hood on the left side, near the upper strut housing or near the battery. it should say which one controls the horn either in the back of the owners manual or under the fuse box lid. if not the fuse than the horn itself might be bad. hope this helps
Hello, and thank you for choosing fixya.com. There could be a few reasons why your horn doesn't work. First, check the horn fuse in the fuse box (this should be located under or in the dash on the left or right side of the steering wheel. If the fuse is good, procede to check the horn relay (this could be under the dash or under the hood) check the owners manual, service repair manual, or your local auto parts dealer. If it is found that the relay is good as well, check all the wriring to the horn (usually mounted at the front of the vechicle under the hood. follow the wiring as best as you can checking that the connection are clean and secure. You can test the horn, by diconnecting the wires (if two are available) . With some spare wire, run one wire as a ground from the ground on the battery to the ground on the horn, do the same for the posotive. If the horn sound, it may just be an electrical issue at the back of the fuse box, or the wiring may be damaged and shorting out somewhere.
