Use a putty knife. VERY carefully to make sure that you do not put deep scratches anywhere. It will remove them just fine

I got a friend to put valve gasket covers on my marquis once he finished we cranked the car a lottttttt of smoke started coming from the tailpipe and from under the car so he went back in and resealed the...

im not gonna defend the guy, but when an inexperienced person changes a valve gasket, oil drips everywhere . it gets on your exhaust manifold and will burn off causing your car to smoke like cheech and chong!. as for smoke coming out of your tailpipe. that could be something completely different., why did you think you needed to have your valve cover gasket replaced? were you burning oil. or was oil pouring out of the valve cover? did you check your oil dipstick? was it milky? or clumpy? was your car losing power? need a lil more info. starter could be he shorted it. or it was just time for it to go. starters just go sometimes. no warning. but like i said no info. smoke deffinately worse cause of oil on exaust manifold. it will burn off eventually. hopefully that will be the end of the probs. but check that oil. look for color like milk. power in car getting less and less. if thats the case. than blown head gasket. many other possibilities. does it leak coolant? maybe freeze plug popped out. lets just hope alot of spilled oil and big smiles. :)

Where is the head gasket located at on a 1994 grand marquis

The head gasket (in your case gaskets) is located on the top of the engine block under the engine cylinder head which is under the Camshaft cover which is the very top of the engine. This car is a V8 engine so it has 2 heads and 2 head gaskets, one on each side of the engine. It is a very expensive job to replace head gaskets.

Can i just replace the head gaskets or do i need to replace alll gaskets

when u replace the head gaskets u must also replace any parts gasket that u remove (valve covers, intake manifold etc.) to get the heads off, they sell what is called a "Valve Grind" gasket set that is what u need, it will have all the gaskets in it u need..

What is the labor time to replace valve cover gaskets on a 2003 mercury grand marquis?

I'm not sure what the labor time is but technically it doesnt take ALL that long. Besides removing a few parts to clear a way to the covers. I would assume somewhere around 3-5 hours is what you might get hit up for.

I need to know how to remove the intake off of a 1990 mercury grand marquis 5.0

is it fuel injected or carburated usually its just a matter of pulling off the carb or plenum from the top of the intake and then the valve covers and move all the wires and **** out of the way then you should have access to 10 or 12 bolts un bolt them and use a thick flat tip to pry the intake from the heads. but make sure all the bolts are out before that and pop should come right off
