There is no aftermarket DIRECT FIT steering wheel.
Each manuafacturer would be required to ake 3000+ different wheels.
Instead they use a HUB adapter.
You pick the wheel you want, and install the adapter that fits the wheel to your car.
MOMO USA is a popular company that makes many hub adapters and wheels.

Thanks for using FixYa - a FixYa rating is appreciated!!

I have a 2001 Mercury Cougar and the horn and cruise control stopped working at the same time. What could be the problem?

there is a contained loop of wire under the steering wheel called a clock spring. All of the steering wheel controls are wired through the clock spring. These wires can break causing your symptoms.

Check your fuse box for blown fuses.

Most FWD vehicles can have a four wheel alignment performed. A 2 wheel alignment is mainly for vehicles that are rear wheel drive. There are exceptions but the 2000 Mercury Cougar is a 4 wheel alignment.

How do you remove a front wheel bearing from a 2000 mercury cougar? How do you get the housing piece apart?

The bearing is pressed into the steering knuckle. If you don't have a press, take the knuckle to a machine shop and they can do it for you.

2001 mercury cougar steering wheel?

Don't listen to that guy!!!! you need to take the plastic cover behind the steering wheel. there are two bolts holding the air bag in t30 (torx) then the air bag falls right off. then the steering wheel is held in by a 15 mm head bolt.
Warning: make sure battery is disconnected for at least 30 min before you mess with the air bag connector
