Truck won't move

I got a 98 dodge 24 valvue cummins turbo diesel 4x4 well i was driving and tried shifting from 2 to 3 but missed the gear and ended in 5 the truck bogged down i put the clutch back in to shift back in to 3 but it was stuck i tried hard but could not get it out so i drove the truck back home in 5 about 3 miles got it home i took the shifting stick and boot off and got it out of gear the put it back together and it was working fine except that while coming out of 1 and 2 it would stutter real bad but after out of 2 in 3 it worked fine then the following day leaving the house about 3 miles out i down shifted in a curve put in 4 the truck would rpm really high but the truck would not pull i down shifted all the way to 1 and still nothing i gave it gas and it would rpm but it would not move forward so i pulled it home checked the transmisson fluid and it was very low i filled it up but still nothing any suggestions will be helpful

My Dodge did this itself. Check the rear end fluid. When I was towing one time with a full trailler I missed a gear and if broke the rear end letting it move but not letting me hit all 6 gears. So I would check the rear end fluid

Have you checked the shift linkage? Make sure it did not get bent?

Sounds like you may have broken the plate or the fork. When you engage the the clutch does it go REALLY easy or is it kind of hard to get the clutch to work properly

Unfortunately, it sounds pretty bad, good job listing the symptoms though, appreciate it. Now what I would do next is replace the oil completely (and filter if there is one). Its your last hope of saving the trans, plus you can get some valuable clues. When you drain the oil inspect it closely for metal filings/fragments, and take note of the smell too. Does it smell burnt? Is the oil discolored? Also pay attention for leaks, trans oil level doesn't usually go down unless theres a leak. It doesn't hurt to save a sample of the oil or fragments for an expert to inspect. Unfortunately, if new oil doesnt change anything, then overhaul is iminent. Hope this helps.

Although you didn't mention it, the speedometer probably bounces also. Replacing the speed sensor on the side of the transmission should solve both your problems. Good luck
