Fuel pump relay was burnt out on mk4 escort rs turbo fitted new one but car still not starting fuel pump is in working order but still not starting

The fact that the relay was burnt, might mean you have a short in the
wiring leading to the fuel pump. Check the wiring under the car to the
back, to make sure nothing cut or damaged it while driving.

Main beam on a series 2 escort rs turbo

check the switch and harness attached to the switch. sometimes the wires come slightly loose in the harness and make a bad connection. this bad connection causes heat and melts the plastic around the wire, making it even looser. eventually it becomes so loose that it makes no connection at all.

Have the battery tested, even new ones can be faulty. Then check the entire wiring harness between the battery and the alternator.
