Winshield wipers not working on a 1992 Mazda Protege

Sometimes the wipers will work and sometimes they don't work. I have looked at the schematics and it shows a wiper relay. I have looked it up at AutoZone and Napa's website but no one list the wiper relay. I'm wondering if it is internal to the wiper switch. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a wiper motor malfunction.if the relay isn't the problem, i would got to the wiper motor itself. this may well be your problem. also, check the switch on the steering column for shorts in the wiring as well. hope that helps ya and, thx for using fixya:)

It sounds like it is the internal swiitch and not the relay. I would check the internal switch

Windshield wipers work intermittent

Typical problem is the pulse board on the wiper motor fails on this year of truck. I have had both a 97 and 98 K1500 and had to replace on both. Sometimes the wipers would work, sometimes they would quit when I was driving. Part is less than $50 at auto parts stores. Follow the instructions included. Requires removing 4-5 torx (star) head screws. Takes less than 10 minutes.

Wiper blades

No removal of the arm is necessary. Typically, there will be a little lever on the wiper blade that will let the whole blade slide off the arm. 99fe16e.jpg Sometimes you'll have to hold it down and give it a little hit to make it slide off. The new one will slide on and click in.

Mazda protege 2000 wipers stopped working. fuse is ok. Waher fluid works. What's wrong?

You need to use a test light to see if you are getting power to the wiper motor. If no, then the wiper switch is bad. If yes, then the wiper motor is bad.
