Question about 2003 Chrysler 300M
The backlights on the insturment cluster of my 2003 Chrysler 300m keep going out on their own. It started over a year ago and was very intermitent (once every few months for just a few minutes) but lately has been almost every trip almost the whole time. Last night they came on when the car started and then almost immediately began flashing several times until going out and never coming back on.
Typical problem, the old failed solder joints on the back of the instrument gauge circuit board. You;ll have to remove the instrument cluster and carefully remove the circuit card (board) and locate the two regular rows of solder joints on the front side (inside) opposite the connector in the center. Reflow the solder with q low wattage soldering iron 25-35 watts and the problem disappears after re-installation.

I had an overheating problem with my 2001 300M....removed the thermostat two years ago and have never had a problem since....it does get cold in the Winter but warms up enough so you don't freeze. I don't think most service centers know that the thermostat goes in BACKWARDS from most cars...due to the coolant coming through a small line through the head....which often gets clogged up...thus the thermostat doesn't work properly. I just decided to remove the thermostat and have had no issues with the car driving it that way.

i live in el cajon, ca. i purchased a 2000 sebring convertible. It has been well taken care of. I want to do preventitive maintenance, by replacing the timing belt before it breaks.
i am limited in funds, as is everyone else. What are you ideas.

Change the Cam Position Sensor.. It done the same thing on mine. The sensor runs about
40. to 60.00 at most parts stores Your gonna have to take off the upper intake or plenum to
get access to it. Top of the engine right side, you'll see it

On thedash of my 2003 sedan sebring ,My dash ilumination lights for the speed,temp,tack\rpm and fuel are unlit.
I found that there is a paper thin plastic across and behind all four of these gauges which lights up all four gauges,if working correctly, There is a very poor connection to this thin film lighting system ,basicaly a wire terminal used as a staple and that very well could be your problem.
It as far as I know would require whole gauge assembly replacement! because dealers dont sell such small portions of some assemblies!
I myself will attempt to crimp this poor connection on my car without damaging thin film! there are no bulbs for those four gauges too iluminate!
