will try that. thank you. however, the ticking is causing the gear lever to vibrate along with the ticking.

THANK YOU! Turns out the battery we have on the car is only standard with 340 cranking amps. we are just about to go and buy a new battery - heavy duty this time!

Hi

Sounds like a flat battery !

Get a jump start, with a good heavy duty set of jump leads.

Then have your battery tested.

Good Luck !

A FixYa rating would be appreciated thanks. !

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Cannot start loud fast clicking noise

Clicking noise would indicate starter solenoid faulty! This would also be the case if battery low but since you have a new battery you can look at the starter solenoid!

Starter solenoid or just a starter bad, sometimes this comes out of nowhere but usually you can hear it start cranking slow shortly before failure.

When I try to start my car I hear a ticking noise and it won't start.

The first place you need to start is charging your battery. I've had the same problem as recient as yesterday. After about 5 min with the jumper cables, I was good to go. I hope this helps.

Motor doesn't start makes ticking noise

It is most likely the starter, make sure the battery is up to par,and if so,the starter needs to be replaced.

My motor making a ticking noise

make sure the battery is fully charged, and then if so, you have a starter that has went out.. you will need to replace it...
also, make sure the battery cables are tight and clean
