Clunking. Can you be a little more specific? Does it happen when going over bumps or potholes, or does it occur constantly when in motion? Also, if it only happens going over bumps, is it over even tiny ones, or only when hitting medium or large bumps? I have some ideas but without clarification on the specifics, I'm not sure I can point you in the right direction.

If someone has done the brakes on your car, they didn't put the brake pad shims above and below the pads. these shims fit in the caliper bracket. they are not available from toyota. Some after market brakes have these shims in the box. now it that is not the case then your backing plate is held with three #20 female torx screws, that some times comes lose. you cant tight it, just take some silicone and slap a bead from the plate to the knuckle. weaving back and forth. lose wheel will not make that noise . toyota has a prob., with their sway bar link kit also . just check it by grabbing it either ball joint on the link and move it up/down or in/out. you cant see it but u can feel it. shock usually do not make clunking but rather thudding.

Check the ball joints, drive shaft first for uneven and excessive wears.

Right front clunking noise

It sounds like the CV joints are going bad on the passenger side drive shaft. Make sure none of the obvious like ball joints, struts, springs, and any other suspension parts aren't loose or broken. More than likely its the CV joints, but if you do one side, might as well do the other. (an ounce of prevention saves a major headache later)

You don't give much of a description , but from what you describe check the CV joint(s) on the driver and passenger sides and also check the "U" joints on both drive lines.

Clunk noise from front passenger side when

That noise sounds to me like a Ball Joint problem. I would check to see if you have fittings to grease the front suspention.

Good luck, Allen

Clunking problem

There is aeveral things it could be. Check cataliac converter. As it gets older it breaks down inside and rattles. If you hear noise while driving it could be the brake pads on the front clapping.
