Question about 1995 Chevrolet Astro

1 Answer

1995s-10 turn lights and brake lights dont work.

Fuses are ok, brake switch is ok,lights work on 4 ways ,turn switch is ok,blinker can is good, the purple is supposed to go from the blinker to the switch, after it goes to a plug it turns green and white it goes to a relay in the glove box no purple returns to the switch, all diagrams show it returning, what am i missing? For the brakes,on the wiring diagram it shows a white or a brown and white returning to the turn switch to power the brakes it goes from the brake pedal switch to a relay under the hood and should return to the turn switch as brown and white but at a plug it turns to purple and white and goes through the fire wall to a future connection (dead end).

If there was a short at the trailer lights would the four ways work?Even when i hot wire the tail lights, they work. The part of the system or DWG that is missing is how the power gets to the turn switch it shows a purple wire from the blinker but that wire goes to a plug changes to blue and black loops around back to the plug changes color again to green and black and goes to a relay that works when the ignition is on,but does not go to the turn switch as the three books i have all show.how does the power get to the switch from the blinker?

The headlight switch would have nothing to do with brake lights and turn signals. The turn signal switch would.

No brake lights, blinkers, flashers . Fuses good bulbs good

make sure the 4 way flasher switch fully releases. May be a bad turn signal switch. Brake lights go though this switch.

I have a 1992 Buick La Sabre Custom. My brake lights are not working but taillights, turn signals and hazard lights do work. Switch ok. fuse ok. ????????

if your fuse is good. and you have power at the brake light switch and when you hit the brakes you have power coming out the otherside of brake light switch/which would be the white wire/ check that the white wire is sending power up the turn signal switch. if theres power there and your turnsignals work? im afraid that your turnsignal switch is bad rare but it has been known to happen.

Brake lights gone, hazards and blinkers work. fuses are good

Replace the turn signal switch. The 2 lower brake lights run through this swith but the upper one does not. Let me know if you have any questions. Its not a hard oub if you are fairly mechanical. I expensive to have a dealer do. The part new is about $65.00.

Turn signals work but the brake lights do not how do i get them to work? i already changed the flasher.

I have a 2001 Ford F150, my brake lights dont work. Ive replaced the bulbs, checked the fuses, and the brake switch on side of the brake pedal was replaced. I still dont have any brake lights. My third brake light works fine, along with my running lights, flashers, blinkers.

1985 chevy s-10 rear blinkers dont work and no brake lights

First check all the fuses and make sure that they are good. The brake light wiring goes from the switch, through the turn signal switch, then to the brake lights. This is done so that when the turn signal is on and the brake light is on at the same time, the bulb will stay on steady on one side (away from the side you are signaling to) and the other side will flash.
If all the fuses are good, you have a bad turn signal switch. This requires a special tool (available at most parts stores or from the local Snap On man) to access the switch AFTER you remove the steering wheel.
