I have seen the 2 wire grey connecter and it dont look healthy but i will tomorow cut and splice it back into itself and eliminate itself but then again would this keep it from buzzing.

  • krasykid21 Feb 07, 2009

I tryed that this morning i checked the connectors and one side of the connecter was melted or had been at some time. I cut the connecter out and spliced the wires together and put the module back in and it fired up and is running good thanks so much.

The part you are speaking of is actually the CCRM (constant control relay module) It houses all the relays fuel pump, pcm, ignition. Check over on the drivers side of radiator and you will see a grey 2 pin connector. This is the ground feed for the CCRM. It is probably corrioded.Clean it or cut it out and splice and solder the wires back together and this should fix your concern.

Yes, this is the ground for this module. What you are hearing are the relays trying to activate but they can't because they are not getting totally grounded. See how a relay works is it has a coil side which is just a coil of wire and a switch side. Both sides have power to them, the coil side has a ground and the switch then feeds what ever it is you want to control. When you supply power and ground to the coil side the current flowing thru the coil of wire creates a magnetic filed which then pulls the switch closed so the current can flow to what ever it is you want to control. The reason for the buzzing is that the coil side ground is not totaly grounded only partially so the magnetic field is not strong enough to totaly close the switch so the switch is trying to close but can't.

Where is the transmission control module on a 2001 Lincoln continental

The TCM is integrated into the PCM module. .
The PCM/ECM is under hood on the firewall around the master cylinder, there should be two to three bolts that need removal to come out on front side of fire wall. Disconnect the battery negative cable before any work is done.

94 lincoln continental fan belt broke do i need to take radiator off to repair if not what should i do

You should have a serpetine belt on your car for all pulleys.
There should be a diagram of the belt either on top of the front cowling apron(In front of the radiator) or under the hood in front by the upper locking hook.
You should not need to remove the radiator.

You will need a 3/8 or 1/2 inch rachet or breaker bar to move the idler pulley to slip on the belt. The idler pulley is spring loaded and keeps tension on the belt.
