Question about 2001 Mercury Sable
I have a 2001 mercury sable Ls premium and cannot see what tranny i've got ...I need to replace it but i have to get the right parts first..cannot get under the car to see
You should be able to see an identification tag on top of the bell housing.Look under the hood where tanny and engine meet and it should ne right there on the top.
The top line will be something like PNB-CA or PNA-EZ
The second line is the model and it will be something like 2F1P-AA.
The very bottom line is the serial number on left and model number on the right.
You can also look on the door plate and find the bottom line look for the letter under TR it will be L for AX4S and X for 4F50N (AX4N)
Although I have seen these be wrong so try and get the number off of the plate.
