I would start by replacing the fuel filter. And if that doesn't work ? listen for the fuel pump when you turn the key on. If you don't hear the fuel pump go on when the ignition is set to on (Just before turing the engine over) ? Check the relay or the fuse. Its not ever a good idea to run any vehicle low on fuel. Could cause a number of problems. but it sounds like fuel filter got clogged and sucked up all the junk at the bottom of the tank.
Questions for you. Is the fuel pump working? When you turn the key(just not enough to turn the starter), do you hear the fuel pump? Should be like a buzzing noise for about 10 to 15 seconds. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? They do get clogged and will halt the flow of fuel. That's all I can say with what you typed.
Have you changed the inline fuel filter? these usually have paper filter elements and after a while can be clogged with moisture which blocks fuel flow. The fuel pump will still have good pressure but the fuel rail will lack the flow required and you may burn out an injector as its running too lean. Secondly, the MAF sensor, could be dirty, clean it with electrical cleaner.
I think its more likeylt the fuel filter blocked. Try and bypass it if possible, reset the ECU and try agiain
Check there is power going to the pump, an immobiliser fault would stop that. If there is, take the pump out, you should be able to get it out under the rear seat and check theres fuel in it. A faulty sender unit could show fuel in the tank when there isn't any. Also check that when you flick the ignition you can hear the pump priming itself. If it keeps pointing towards feul pump then it will end up just being conclusive and you have to bite the bullet and buy one.
not the fuel relay. the pump may not have enough psi to pump properly. and you ould have a blocked fuel filter/ ethanpl das has been none to clog lines, fuel pumps, and emissions.and injectors.

Change out your fuel filter first. Add a can of SEAFOAM to you fuel(parts stores). after changing filter. let SF sit in tank for 10-20 minutes in fuel. It will help dry the water that ethanol produces..,

If it turns over faster, and wants to start, that is a sign of EGS(ethanol gas syndrome)/ let it sit another 20 minutes and try to start. If it won't fire through the injectors, replace the regulator(which is also damaged), and that should fix it. Also have a psi done on your fuel pump. good luck
the fuel system needs to have the air bled out!
Crank it over & release injectors pipes one at a time so it can pump fuel through
[ just enough like a leak ]
this will bleed out all the air!
Cheers Rob.
hi from uk not too sur if this relates to your vehicle ? however on many uk cars there is a trip switch fitted to the fuel delivery system which operates if car is involved in impact / it trips and shuts off fuel delivery to prevent leakage and/or fire ? usually fitted near bulkhead in engine bay but may well be inside car probably behind panel/s in one of front footwells as in some uk models? fords such as granada/sierra's were in boot area check out handbook for such switch? if fitted you will just need to press to reset ?hope this helps?
Thanks for your replay ! I have not been able to get any fuel coming into the Filter ! so I am thinking that problem is the Fuel Pump and I have not been able to find it's location ! I guess it's in the fuel tank and because it's Sunday I can not even find the part ( Fuel pump) ! If you can tell me where it is that will be great, thanks.Hamid
did u have an accident?
