I had the same problem. discovered that the rubber button attached to hood that pushes down on the switch was worn or degraded and was pushing the switch jujust enough for intermittent disconnect. try pushing down on the hood after you loset the alarm and see if the parking lights flash. If so theres the problem. I put a rubber washer under the button to raise it a little. You may have a better solution sense this is a jack leg rig I used.

2002 Hyundai Elantra how do I reset the alarm system

If your alarm is factory-installed, first, you will need to insert the key in the ignition in the "ON" position. Leave it there and wait until the alarm stop sounding. It may take between thirty seconds and one-and-a-half minute.

Second. Once the alarm stop, turn the key to the left like if you were going to take it out, but don't remove the key.

Third. Wait Exactly 10 seconds and turn the car on.

This will disable the alarm until it is engaged again using the remote.

Alarm going off all the time.

Too many possible causes for this. Take it into the dealership and have it properly diagnosed. Sounds to me to be a BCM problem (body control module).

2007 Hyundai Elantra Alarm keeps going off when it is windy

Go to the dealer and have them check the hood pin switch pad, there is a updated part that is longer to make better contact with the hood pin switch. Also, check the trunk lid stricker to make sure it is not bent, that has got me a couple of times.
