Question about 2004 Pontiac Montana

1 Answer

Will not start

The van was running just fine most of the day and I stopped at the mall and when I came out, it would not start. It just turns over and over like it's not getting the fuel but I can smell gas after . I noticed when first turning over the ignition that there was a buzzing sound behind the speedometer and right after turning it over I could hear the same noise for a sec. I checked the spark plugs and they are fine. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Hey this is what i do when I am after a dead car.. First shoot a little starting fluid or gasoline into the air cleaner or throttle body throat .. If it trys to start or does start you have a fuel problem sounds like to me a fuel pump but try that first ok .. thanks jerry holler if you need more.

HARD TO START LIKE NOT GETTING FUEL

The van will start fine for periods of 2 - 3 weeks then will turn over & won't start. Usually within the next day or two it will start & run fine
& the cycle repeats. This has been going on since Jan. I've had it towed 5 times, looked at by 2 different mechanics & a chev dealership
mechanic. Still nobody has a clue whats going on. The van has 94,000
miles & besides this problem runs fine. I've had it for almost 7 years
without any other problems. This is beyond the point of being frustrating. I use the van for my business & its embarrasing when
I have to get it towed from a customers house. If anyone has any
ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Bob

Silhouette will not start, but battery put out 12+ volts

You better have the alterntor checked, you said the battery was putting out 12v. was that with the car running or off? If it was running, it should have pushing between 14 and 15 volts, if it wasn't with it running, replace alternator.
