Question about 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
I pulled 3 screws out and yet something is still holding the lens in on the drivers side. I can't get it out and replace the bulb any Ideas?
IF it's the headlight's light bulb you want to access to pull out old bulb and install new bulb, here it is:
You know where the 3 bolts that secure the headlight body on the frame, also pull out the 4 black plastic clips that holds the grille-it's located on the top grille brackets (it's close to the top radiator area)
When you pull out the clips, gently pull the grille away from the top frame, then pull the headlight body away carefully to allow your hand to gain access behind the grille/headlamp body, find the wire that connects to the headlight bulb, use your fingers to feel the plastic 'collar ring' around the socket and twist it counterclockwise (just like unscrewing a lid off the jar) and pull the socket out with the bulb.
This space is tight for your fingers so it takes patient to get the job done.
IF it's the ENTIRE headlight body you want to remove it off the equinox (since you mentioned you've removed the 3 screws) there's one more that still holds it down is the black plastic tab that's only accessible inside the fender! So to gain access under the fender, remove the plastic wheelwell liner part located underneath the front-left fender (driver's side) there's a small screw and few plastic clips you'll need to remove it to move the wheelliner liner aside to locate that headlight body's plastic tab on the fender frame, use a plier to 'unlock' the tab out of the hole.

After popping out the little rivets, you can support the grill out of the way. While the grill is out of the way, you can pop the headlight assembly, and get better access to it by laying the headlight forward, and to the outside of the vehicle. I found this much easier than fishing with my fat hands in the small space between the headlight, and the frame.

Make TRIPLE Sure that there are no More Screws before this!!!! There is a Rubber Seal around the Lens on the Outside to keep water out of the Lens, This seal will become Very well Stuck to the Body after not very long and will hold it in Place Really Well. You will need to Break the Seal Between the Body and the Lens to get this out. Do Not pull on it REALLY hard or you could Break the Lens. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
