Bad water pump or clogged system. is the car overheating, if so water pump. take off the radiator cap, then start your car, if you can see antifreeze swirling around, pump is ok, if it looks like it's standing still, waterpump. And a clogged system, might not be the only problem, it's just the more, common issues.

natural for engine temp to rise in Traffic - Until Themostat opens ) cooling fan sensor kicks on fan . But Antifreeze is not just a Cold weather item . Coolant is Absolutely Necessary for Hot Days . You must be full to recovery bottle setting of cold when checked prior to start up . Coolant for your make / model is Reddish - Pink colour and should have a reading of -25 thats negative 25 degrees the Lower the Better even - 50 .. Why ?? - 50 is 50 %% antifreeze / Coolant Concentrate MIX Gives Hot weather cooling Ability or very cold weather starting / winter HEAT .

I'm BAFFLED with a heater issue. Heat went off in my 1991 CRX SI with no apparent reason. Car is not overheating. Coolant in tank is full and it's clean. Top radiator hose is hot; bottom hose

Check the PUMP, there is apump that pumps the coolant from the radiator into the engine, if its broken you will have that problem.

Enjin over heating

when the enging is cool, remove the rediator cap and add water/antifreeze until it is full. you may need to start the car to get it full, then check it a few times after that. just dont open the radiator when the engine is hot. once the radiator is full put the cap back on and let the engine run until warmed up. look for any signs of a hose or the water pump leaking. that could be the reason for the overheating. replace any leaking hoses and or water pump. good luck ! Temp gauge over heating no heat through vents cold air upper hose very hot lower hose cold changed thermostat flushed radiator no changes

You will need to bleed the air out of the system there should be a bleeder where the top hose connects to the engine

you have air trapped in the system.
Park facing uphill (on car ramps if you have them).
with cold engine, remove radaitor cap and fill radiator.
Fill reservoir.
leave cap on loose.
Turn on heater.
start engine and run until upper radiator hose gets hot (meaning thermostat has opened).
Check coolant level and top off. Repeat until temp gauage reads normal and heat is coming from heater ducts.
