Question about 2006 Peugeot 604

Peugeot expert 2.0 hdi heater problem, fan working ok, no heat

Changed thermostat, flushed cooling system, blead radiator, heat still bad, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a 2001 cavalier that is overheating. I replaced the thermostat and it still overheats. There is lots of heat from the heater. What can the problem be?


Your radiator may need flushed or replaced.
Your Fan my not be working properly.
Your Catalytic Converter may need replaced.

Drained radiator added prestone Radiator flush refilled and started overheating, drained radiator replaced thermostat and now I get no heat from heater,Radiator water is hot


disconnect the heat hoses going into fire wall , put hose into one with pressure and flush as it sounds like it could be bloked in the heater core,the other thing that could be the problem be the hot ,cold switch as it restricts the flow to makes the heater hoter or colder , it might need tlc or replacing as it is manaul not elec

@car overheating..loosing coolant but coolant fluid seems to be going into the air cooling system peugeot 607 2.2 hdi 2005, 170bhp auto


There is a leak in the heater core or the hoses to it. The two hoses go into the cabin to the heater and they can get a hole or have bad clamps. The heater core is a small radiator and helps to cool the system.

Just flushed rad heater core and block because i had no heat. flushed the system filled with new antifreeze. my temp gauge will change from 150 to 210 I have heat then i dont


Replace the thermostat. I have had bad luck with aftermarket thermostats on this particular year of GM/ Chevy trucks.They tend to stick closed and then fully open, thus causing the temp to sort of surge hot and cold. A good thermostat will slowly open maintaning a good consistant temp. I would recommend spending a little more and getting a GM thermostat.

Normally the engine operates at 195F, if you did not replaced thermostat with another one at 185F. If the temperature has a tendency to rise up, the reason is a partially obstructed cooling system or/and a bad thermostat.
The first part of the cooling system that gives up is the heater core, because the coolant flowing channels are thin. You got a good advice but not the best one. It is the time for a coolant flush in your car. To do do it right then you need time. Plan ahead for a week end. With a cooled engine, start as your friend advised you with the heater core hoses. Disconnect both of them, but the dirt has to go out of your car, so with a garden hose back flush it and let the dirt to get out of your cooling system. After you will get clean discharge, it is the time for coolant bottle, remove it, discharge the used coolant and clean it. The third to come is the radiator. Open the drain cook, or disconnect the lower radiator hose, and disposal used coolant properly. Now open the radiator cap and flush with water the radiator till discharge will be clear. You think that you are done? Not yet. There is half of old dirty coolant trapped in the system.
Install everything, and connect all coolant system hoses, radiator, heater core and coolant bottle. Now you have to run your car with water. Fill out the cooling system with distilled water, start engine, turn on the heater high, and run till upper radiator hose get hot. That means the thermostat opens.
Let the engine to cool down, open the radiator cap, and draining cook or lover radiator hose and drain everything. You can use flush detergent if you wanted at this stage, but flushing with detergent will add 4 more hours, because detergent is colorless and you have to guess how many fill and drain processes do do to get rid of it. I do not do it, but if your cooling system is very dirty you have to do it. After the last drain, fill the cooling system with concentrated antifreeze and 30% distilled water. The reason is because it is more water trapped inside the cooling system. The goal is to reach 50/50 concentration. You need a coolant tester to find this. Start the engine and add coolant til radiator is full. Install the radiator cap and bleed the system. After driving you car for a day or so, let engine to cool down, open the radiator cap check the concentration of coolant with the tester and add antifreeze or distilled water as necessary. It is a good idea to replace the thermostat while flushing the radiator. This procedure has to be done every 2 to 3 years. It is up to you to decide to use RED GM Dex-Cool or GREEN Prestone antifreeze.
In all my cars I have replaced Dex-Cool with Prestone, but I flush the system every 2 years, and I never had a cooling system problem in all my cars.

Start with Flushing out your cooling system. Flush it out with Preston Radiator flush, you have your preference of ether the super flush which takes 3-6 hours or the 10 min flush which is good if you don't have the time to flush out your cooling system.

After you have flushed out your cooling system, replace your thermostat and you should be good for another cold winter driving. What happens is that after a few years of the coolant not being serviced, the coolant crystallizes and clogs up the heater core and radiator causing poor circulation. Poor circulation will cause poor heat and or overheating issues to the engine.

Before you go through all that inspect to make sure you have the right amount of coolant in your cooling system.

1995 Chrysler Cirrus overheating


Probably not water pump. Engine is notourious for vapour lock.
Cooling system must be blead of air before thermostat will work. Cool bottom rad hose is a dead give away. If you are still watching this forum reply , and I will walk you through the only way I know how to make it work properly. It's actually easy if you do it my way. I have worked on lots of cars , and this engine was the hardest to bleed out. Did one Yesterday , and works perfect.

No heat in 99 saturn sl1 fan blows but little heat


One or more of:

1. Your coolant is low
2. Your thermostat doesn't close and needs to be replaced
3. The valve from the cooling system to the heater core is stuck
4. Your heater core is clogged

Just replaced radiator, but temp. gauge is rising to the red line


preform a pressurized collant flush , take it to a raidior shop to have it done , they will clean and blow out all blockages that might cause your car to over heat. also check to make sure you dont have air pockets in your anit freeze, if you do you need to bleed the system out after you have it flushed , your car should have a blead valve to let out the axcess air ,if not drive it down the road with the cooaint overflow cap off , not the radiator but you need to flush out the system first , add new anti freeze then bleed out all air pockets, hope this helps
