Question about 1995 Ford Explorer
At first it did not want to go past 15mph the engine sounded forced, but afterwards, it was able to reach higher speeds. when it came time to slow down or stop completely, it wouldnt. my foot would be completely off the gas pedal and it would be on the brake pedal all the way but it wouldnt stop, it would keep accelerating on its own. the only way to stop it was to put it in neutral or the park gear, and on its own it would de-accelerate on its own. when it was doing so, smoke would come through the front tires and burning smell. what is wrong with it?
First off, it's a ford. this sounds like a dealer issue and i don't know alot about fords. what i do know is that the cruise control in these vechiles have a default. moisture enters something, i forgot what, shorts out, then vechile accelerates on it's own, even with braking hard. as for not wanting to accelerate, sounds like a tranni problem. sorry i couldn't be more useful.
