I had this problem with my 2002 Lanos.
It turned out to be a warped front disc so both were replaced and the juddering has never returned.
The flashing engine management light and a misfire are another story that I shall post the solution to in here soon.

Brakes juddering, not rear drums front discs appear good.

no
the problem most likely is warped discs
this makes the pistons move in and out and pulses under the foot
take the discs to an accredited brake shop and have them checked and machined
ABS systems do not work until a skid situation is reached, then the abs pump cuts in and maintains brake line pressure according to brake pedal pressure
oil on brake lining and disc pads will also give problems so have the shop do a proper inspection

My abs light as come on do i have to change my brake pads ???

Normally this means there is a problem with the ABS. It may or may not mean the pads need replacing and more than likely that is not the problem. Inspect the brake pads to see if they need replacing. If not then you have a problem with the ABS that needs to be diagnosed by a professional.

Hi, My 1992 Ford Fairmont EB has recently developed a nasty brake judder, most noticeable at open road speeds, and it can be felt in the pedal and the steering wheel. I have removed the front wheels and...

hi.

if you do not have any juddering when you are not braking, then it sounds like you either have a slightly warped disk, or an internal fault in the ABS unit.

the most likely is a warped disk, the warp may not even be visible (my last one wasn't) but can still cause a nasty judder. take the disks off and get them measured properly at machine shop.
if they are ok, then the ABS system will need to be checked by a qualified mechanic with the specialist equipment needed to test the system. the system is NOT user servicable. unfortunately this would not be something you can do yourself.

i would recommend getting this problem sorted out as soon as possible, as any braking system fault carries the risk of brake failure.

hope this helps.

My vw bora has a severe front brake judder and abs activates for no reason at slow speed, brake pads and discs are only 4 months old

Hi,

Your discs when fitted had a small runout problem, this will after 2 to 5000 miles develope into DTV Disc thickness variation. To cure this inexpensively go to www.discskimmers.com or www.skimmydiscs.co.uk
and get your discs machined on the vehicle which will eliminate your runout problem solving the juddering without replacing the discs etc.

Brake juddering, failure: ABS or master cylinder, or anything els

i would say have your abs system bled. this only requires a computer and someone who knows how to use it. after bleeding the abs then the rest of the system should be bled. if you had a bad secer it would set what is known as a hard code and the light would always stay on.

Daewoo front brakes

The single-piston floating-caliper disc brake is self-centering and self-adjusting. The caliper is able to slide from side to side so it will move to the center each time the brakes are applied. Also, since there is no spring to pull the pads away from the disc, the pads always stay in light contact with the rotor (the rubber piston seal and any wobble in the rotor may actually pull the pads a small distance away from the rotor). This is important because the pistons in the brakes are much larger in diameter than the ones in the master cylinder. If the brake pistons retracted into their cylinders, it might take several applications of the brake pedal to pump enough fluid into the brake cylinder to engage the brake pads
