Hi, Yes that is exactly what you should do. But I gotta ask, what kind of place would replace the fuel pump, give you the sugar story and not tell you that it needed to be cleaned up or more damage may result? At the very least they should have told you that is what needed to be done when they discovered that sugar was the problem. I would TOW It. Don't run the engine anymore if it still has the fuel with the sugar. Take it someplace else and have them do the work and check that the new fuel pump was OK. Sorry for the news and Best of Luck to you!

My car was sugered then I didn't what I first text u fuel pump was good I had it started F awhile then tired if of then stared again it would stared but putter then quit

Hi Delwin, There's only one way to clean a fuel tank and that's to pull it out and pull the fuel pump out of the tank as well because you're going to have to flush both the tank and pump, Also when you've finished reinstalling the tank unhook the fuel line from injectors and turn your ignition on for a minute or two to flush the fuel line, Then replace fuel filter and connect the fuel line back up to injectors........ CHEERS..

Sugar in my "1985 olds cutty sup" gas tank.Car was driveable for a week. Now I go to start my car it cranks up my car starts,it stays on for two seconds when i let go of the gas it shuts right off.

Did you have the sugar cleaned out of the gas tank? If not, you don't have electrical problems. You have fuel problems. The sugar gums up everything. The fuel pump, the filter and the injectors. Did two cars from the same family. Had to replace the fuel pumps, filters and all the injectors (couldn't even have them professionally cleaned). Cleaned out the tanks and all the fuel lines. Their insurance covered the parts and labor.

Someone Poured Sugar into my 2003 Jaguar X-type replaced the fuel system now car wont start.

Sugar has been dismissed as a vandalism method for cars. There is no affect to the engine. It just sits in the tank and the fuel system is protected by a screen. So the issue that you are having has nothing to do with the sugar. Take it back to the mechanic and tell them to fix it because they probably did something.

My 2003 tahoe spins over but won't start ?

When you turn the ignition key to the on position can you hear the fuel pump running?
The fuel pumps are notorious for failing. The fuel pump is located in the gas tank and you'll have to drop the tank to replace it.

Sugar in tank need to check see how far it is in there. you cant put fuel in it and is got bout a gallon in it. how do i remove the fuel filler tube?

If the car has not been run you can siphon the gas out of the car and then fill it up to dilute what little sugar will be left.

If its been run already you really have more problems that you think. There are quite a few things that will have to be looked at and replaced. Fuel filter, maybe the pump, injectors, etc.

Are you saying the filler tube is clogged? with Sugar?

Sugar in gas tank how do i fix this

easy, but not fun...
you need to drop the tank, flush the heck and replace the fuel pump "sock".
You might also want to consider just replacing the tank and pump while you are there....better to be safe than sorry
The good news is that the sock is what prevented some serious problems had the sugar had gotten to the engine

Sugar in Fuel

The only thing i can tell you is to get all the gas you can out of the tank, even if it means droping the tank. Then blow out the fuel line, install new filter, fill up with new gas with a fuel additive that cleans injectors and run it. I believe the worst that can happen is clog up the injectors, witch may not happen if you just run it. Depending on how much sugar was put in it.

Fuel pump not coming on

Sorry, if you turned your ignition on you will have to flush your whole system. The answer is yes to the pump. And will clog up everything in your fuel system.

Tahoe won't start

Is your security light flashing? If your Tahoe has the factory ant-theft system, if the security light is flashing while you are cranking your anti-theft system has been activated. It is common for the Tahoes to wear out the ignition lock assembly, lock cylinder and the ignition switch(electrical) which is attached to the lock assembly. I have replaced all three parts with great success and solved the no start problem on several GM trucks.

The most common problem with these vehicles is the fuel pump. The pump should run for a few seconds when you turn the key on before you crank the engine. If you don't hear the pump run, go to the fuse/relay box under the hood. Look at the diagram on the inside of the lid and locate the fuel pump fuse and relay. Check the fuse to see if it is blown put it back if OK or replace it. Unplug the fuel pump relay and use a paper clip to jumper across terminals #30 & #87 where the relay plugs in. If the fuel pump starts running, you should be able to hear it run at the back of the vehicle, where the tank is. If you don't hear the pump running, hit the center of the tank dead-center with a rubber or wooden mallet. If the pump still doesn't run, see if you can get to the wires going to the fuel pump and wiggle them. If you hear the pump run, try starting the engine. If it starts, replace the relay, if that was the problem or the fuel pump AND relay if the fuel pump was the problem. WARNING! WHEN YOU UNPLUG THE PAPER CLIP. IT MAY BE HOT!!!
The fuel pumps AND connector are big problems with GM trucks. If you replace the fuel pump(which is located in the fuel tank), use only the factory pump which you can buy at your GM dealer or an auto parts store that sells Delco parts. If the fuel pump used the small square four-pin electrical connector, replace it with the fuel pump. The latest GM/Delco fuel pumps will come with the new plug which you MUST change over as it is now a flat four-pin connector.
GOOD LUCK!
