Is it 4x4? if so there is another system taht allows it to transfer from FWD to kick in REAR wheel drive when it needs it (this is the system that they change fluid in) You can also look at the owners manual and this will tell you the recommended intervals

My 2007 TC has 27k miles. The dealer says the power steering fluid is dirty and needs to be exchanged. How is this possible?

That is the dumbest thing I have heard, most cars go their whole life without even checking the power steering fluid. I have never heard of anybody changing it, and never heard of it being dirty. But your car is brand new, and the dealer must be on drugs. But who am I ? Why would he say that anyway? Is the steering giving you trouble? Pump making noise? Leaking?

I have a 2007 Limited Ford Explorer, 4.6 L V-8 with 75,000 miles on it. I want to change the spark plugs, but have heard from two sources that you need to be extra careful ? Plus, I have also heard that...

Based on my experience...If you have the tranny fluid flushed/exchanged using a machine, like at a quicky lube type place...those machines show a measurement as the service is being done which represents flow...too low then change the filter as well. Not like the old days when the tranny pan had to be dropped to get fluid out, and other contaminants and therefore the filter was always changed as well. Hope this helps.

How often should the transmission fluid be changed in a 2009 Sonata?

It's recommended to do it every 30k miles. Do it every 20k.

When you put the shifter to drive position, transmission doesnt move, when in hot engine running. why?

Check your automatic transmission fluid level. It's most likely low, very old and burned, or both. Bad transmission fluid is brownish and gives off a strong burning odor. If your fluid level is just low, you may have a leak. If you park your car in the same spot everyday, look for a pool of fluid. If not, leave some newspaper under the car when you park it. When you return, check the newspaper for fluid. Depending on how many miles you have on the car, changing the fluid would be a good idea, especially if it has more than 60k miles. Most cars require changing transmission fluid every 30k miles and since your car is newer, I'm assuming it was changed at the 30k mile service check. I hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

Transmission fluid on 06 equinox

Regardless of what dealer tells you, there is no such thing as lifetime fluid. Even the best fluids such as synthetics should be changed. Change intervals should be regarded as false as well...If you changed all the fluids once a week your vehicle would last far longer than it does...Obviously this would take up a lot of time and $, but reasonably engine oil should be changed at at least 4,000miles, trans fluid every 25-30K. Otherwise the oil begins to chemically change loosing it's ability to do it's job and also carries fine contaminants with it that begin to wear components.

This is not a common problem. But if I where you I would take it to a tranny shop to see if they can do a rebuild on the tranny. Some companies do some dont. Either way you should be covered under warranty to replace it
