Hello;
Spray starter fuid or brake fluid in the intake, If the car starts I would check each injector for pulse, then you can start looking at the pmc for problems,
How is the compression in each cyl ? I have did this myself, (washed out the cyl) put some motor oil in cyl. and replace plugs ,then try to start.
good luck I hope this helps.

This is most likely an injector problem have your injectors bench tested at local parts store or repair shop or have a complete fuel system integrity testing done

if you want to attempt a fuel system integrity test or any troubleshooting your self it can be done but youll need repair manual ex:haynes or chiltons and alot of tools which if you follow the manual troubleshooting section youll see what you need and what to do this can be a long process most times so I suggested a shop but good luck a good motivated individual with general knowledge can find any problem usually with the help of a repair manual

Mercury Cougar fuel pump constantly running

fuel pumps will run constantly when the ignition is on as the pressure regulator is allowing the excess fuel to return to the tank. IF ether fires then you have spark but what you do not have is injector operation. Check for pulse at the injectors and that they are clean and not blocked up

Car won't start

So then the next questions are - - do you have spark to the plugs and power and pulse ground to the injectors ?

03 Tahoe Z71 Flex Fuel won't start and run. Engine turns over, fires, but won't start. I can hear the fuel pump run but it is not a steady sound like I would normally hear. I am getting a P0

It wouldn't hurt to check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. you should see somewhere around 48 - 55 psi. the test port is on the fuel rail about in the middle of the rail and on the drivers side.

If the fuel fuel pressure is low it wouldn't hurt to make sure there is power to the fuel pump before condemning it. Power is supplied to the pump by the larger of the two grey wires.

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank and the fuel tank will need to be dropped from the vehicle in order to service the fuel pump.

If you decide to replace the fuel pump get an a/c delco or a delphi pump. These are the best two option for your vehicle. Do not get an airtex brand. They are not reliable pumps although they are cheap.

Won't run. has spark (weak)fuel to fuel rail.

id be leaning twords a coil pack on this one, if the spark is weak change the plugs and wires first since its cheaper, then if that doesnt cure it change the coil pack.

The car dont start

check for spark, Check for fuel pressure on the fuel rail, if no spark could be ignition module or cam sensor or crank sensor. If no fuel check pump in tank or filter car should have around 40psi on fuel rail for pressure.

Crank no start: has no spark and only has injector pulse on cyl # 1. if you spray starting fluid directly into throttle body car starts and stays running and has spark and inj. pulse. once you turn the car...

Fuel pump, you have to have press in the rail to fire all injectors- she will run on ether but not good for her. Ck your pump and any related fuses, relays, wiring.

No start

it could be many things my suggestion is if check engine light comes on retrieve the code from ecu either buy following instructions in troubleshooting section of repair manual ex:haynes or chiltons or purchasing OBDI scanner from local parts store then moving on from there
first your mechanical timing is it on the money? using timing light and repair manual to check
second faulty crankcase or cam shaft positioning sensor
timing belt needs replacement
bad grounding system
weak voltage system ex:battery
faulty ecu ignition circuit or ecu malfunction
faulty map sensor
faulty ignition spark are you getting it correctly? or enough of it ether is lighter and far more volatile then fuel
faulty evap system ex: purge valve or charcoal cannister, EGR system
