2002 saturn sl1 automatic transmission slips/leaks..

The car has around 82,000 miles on it, I havent had any problems with the trans at all until about 3 weeks ago, i pulled out of my parking space, started driving down the street and noticed the car started making a high pitched whining sound. I knew that meant it had low or no trans fluid, but i checked it a week before and it was full. Pulled over, sure enough no fluid, it was all over the bottom of the car, and there was a trail going from my house to where i drove. You could see the puddle in my parking spot, it seems it dumped the fluid when i put the car in reverse. I took it to the mechanic at my job, he said there was a hose that had come out, he reconnected it and changed the o-rings around the connection and it hasnt dumped the fluid like that since, however it still seems to leak when the engine is running, and its not a constant leak it only leaks here and there but only when running....also ive been noticing the trans starting to shift weird and maybe slip...not sure if its actually slipping but when im accelerating its not smooth at all, the rpms go up as normal then all of a sudden drop then come back up, and its not due to a gear change. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I Have a 1993 Sc2 Model. It's a Automatic transmission and it only has 58,000 miles on it. I have already change the fluid and the fiter but its still slips and it sounds like its getting wrost. What's wrong with it?

What you might be seeing is the fluid that leaked before still coming off the transmission. is the level staying steady ?

it might be slipping or you are more focused on how the transmission shifts now then you were before.

there is a product i have tried on slipping transmissions and it's made by lucas (can't remember the exact name) it basically thickens the transmission fluid to prevent slipping. according to the label it would not void the warrenty (if you have any remaining on that car).

My 96 Saturn Sl1 slips from 5th gear to 3rd. Does this mean transmission is out? After adding transaxcle fluid my car doesnt want to move.

Did you check the fluid level while the car was running? You really don't want to over fill the trans with ATF.

Why is my 2002 L-Series Saturn transmission is slipping or jerking ?

If its an automatic trans check the fluid. If its black instead of red your trans is toast. If color is ok check oil level with engine running and trans in neutral (park)

Sounds like the friction surface of the clutch disc is slipping. You would have to install a new clutch (clutch disc, pressure plate, and clutch release bearing), and have the flywheel surface cut and polished back to perfect smooth by a shop.
Manual transmission gears don't slip like automatics. And lack of fluid in the transaxle or the hydraulic clutch system won't cause this either.

When put my automatic 2001 Saturn SL1 into reverse it makes a Loud clunk noise before it reverses also it clunks before accelerating into the next gears..? why?

2001 Saturn SL1. Transmission (automatic) shifts hard when putting it in gear and every gear there after. The only codes I get is PO442 and PO410. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2002 Saturn SL1 - Losing reverse and second gear

The simple answer is that there are two loose nuts in the transmission.

The output shaft nuts are loose. The are behind a cover that you can see through the driver's side wheel well.

spray some carb cleaner on the passeger side of the intake manifold, right behind the alternator. it is very common for those to leak there and cause those exact problems

1996 saturn sl1 transmission slips in 3 and 4 gears.

The fluid and speed sensor did not really do anything to solve your slipping problem. If it slipped before it could be that there are chips/breaks in the teeth on the gears or it could be that the clutch is not connecting when it gets into higher gears. May need a new tranny or clutch.
