92 toyota camry automatic le tac went crazy and sudden loss pwr
The tac on my car went from 2 to 0 when I was going 60 down freeway, car wouldnt shift right, car seemed like it wanted to stall and engine light went on also oil light, I always check my fluids abd did so again but everything was good. pulled over and looked engine over but nothing seemed wrong, started car back up and seemed just fine and drove fine all the way back home. it also has the engine light come on early mornings that are very cold. I cannot seem to find out what is wrong, was told it could be fuel pump, also told it could be oxy sensor... please help!!!
Re: 92 toyota camry automatic le tac went crazy and...
Check you ignition components to see if they are worn or faulty, this is usually the cheapest part that can cause this problem since your tach runs off the ignition.check fuel filter before fuel pump as this could be clogged and also not as expensive as a pump or oxy sensor. a faulty oxy sensor will set a code.

My car is back at the factory getting "worked on"...sudden loss of Power and control while driving on the freeway...has anyone else experienced this? ... My son was driving his '04 Volvo on the highway, when all of the sudden the car started slowing down, despite how much he ... Last I heard they were 60.
This switch is for the Electronic controlled transmission. in the normal position the transmission uses its normal shift points. In the PWR position the shift point are delayed to give you the illusion of more power. Keep it in the normal position for everyday driving.
Automatic?? if it is, the ECT button for the transmission is set to ON....it should be near the shifter!! This just delays the auto-transmission to hold in gears longer!! Check also if the ECT button is damaged!! Hopefully this helps
is it a V-6 or 4cyl. take it to autozone and have them retrieve the code...I have worked on all models of camrys...many problems can cause this like IAC valve(common on 4cyl) or timing is offset(very common on V-6). Transmission will not cause rough idle. Tacs on these models usually malfunction stemming from distributor cap/coil oil inside or just the tac itself. Hopefully this helps!!
I had the SAME problem with my 1992 Camry LE...except without the water..First, check the back up lamp fuse (there is more than one circuit on that fuse, not sure which). The water would have likely shorted out the circuit. First check for power at the reverse bulb while the car is in reverse (You can do this with the car off) If there is power, check the ground wire, if it is bad...if you splice the ground wire before the connector and run a new wire to a ground in the trunk, then it should work..thats what was wrong with mine..hope this helps
it sounds like you ground the spacers between the gears. have a look under the gear shift. pull the gear shift off then look at the transmission spacers. you will see where the gear shift sits see if some spacers look like the rest.
