Follow the UPPER Radiator Hose to the Motor. The Belt will Attach to a Bell Housing, Remove the Hose and Bell housing. The Thermostat is Underneath the Bell Housing. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

It's located in the from of the engine. Look for the top radiator hose follow it to the engine it connects to the thermostat housing that's mounted with 2 bolts to the engine. The thermostat is located inside that housing.

I started my 1999 chevy silverado 5.3 liter this morning, 30 mins later i see a puddle underneath the truck and its running hot, its a steady drip. Also the heater has not been working right. Can anyone...

sounds like you have a coolant leak, if coolant is low it will cause both of your symtoms as to where it is coming from, there are many places but common ones are hoses/clamps, water pump or radiator.

Need to locate the thermostat, where is it located?

Open the hood of the truck, and look at the top radiator hose. follow that hose to the engine. where the hose meets is called the thermostat housing cap. remove the hose, unbolt the two bolts, and gently pop the cap. your thermostat is right there, easy to change. about 30 minutes. just make sure you clean the cap and the housing for the thermostat real clean(down to shiny metal). new gasket and thermostat, and your in business. hope this helps

Where would the coolant thremostat be at on a 2002 chevy silverado?

Should be under the thermostat housing. Top radiator hose hooks to the housing. Remove the bolts, pop it off, and the thermostat is right under it.

Thermostats are located inbetween the engine and the radiator. Most of the time there is the top radiator hose coming off of where the thermostat is mounted.
