0is it turning over. make sure you are getting power to the starter and that you have a good ground (if the solenoid is external it might be the solenoid not the starter, solenoid is usual mouned somewhere on the fendor or firewal

Hi what is it doing? did you try the starter solenoid? and do you have power going to the solenoid and to the starter. jump the big power wire going to the solenoid to the small wire.and check if the starter turns the motor over.it may be the starter relay.or a bad switch.

How do I take out a starter motor from a Ford

10 chances to 1 the starter is not your problem. Try this, turn on the headlights, hit the starter. If the lights go out, then look at the soleniod an the All the connections. If the lights stay on,replace the starter. Another thing. Hold it in start mode for 20 seconds, then check for heat at all connections. Could get a burn doing this, but think of the bucks you saved!

Freelander wont start

it's a starter motor problem, the solenoid contact inside the starter
is dirty give it a good cleanup with a sand paper and it should be fine. I have the same starting problem, I just cleanup the copper contacts and presto! starts in one click. or you can buy a starter
copper contact from under $12 from ebayUK go to freelander starter motor.
