Visteon alarm

may have shorted a wire behind the stereo, the body computer has a constant feed that runs near the stereos, check all of the fuses and if one is blown pull the radio and look for a bare wire, you can also try putting the key into drivers door, turning to unlock, that should disarm the security.

The alarm is acting as a Kill Switch. I have to open the hood and reset this Metal switch that is connected to the battery. The car is a 1994. I think the alarm is old and does not work properly. I do not...

You will need to remove this alarm, sounds like the module is no good, the only thing you will need to connect is the power wire to starter, this wire comes down steering column, you will see it it may be a yellow wire but you will see it cut in half and going to difrent locations to alarm, cut wires and connect back together and car will start if you want you could just pull fuses on the module and leave the system in, hope this helps.

2001 mits montero ltd, rechrgd battery & reconnect-alarm goes off

by a cheap amp meter from your local electrical shop should not cost any more than $20, disconnect negative terminal from battery and put the amp meter in between the negative post and the disconnected terminal you will find that there is a number apering on the amp meter eg. 2 amps start pulling fuses one at a time and see if the nomber drops ( always refit the fuse after you pull each one our you may have problems later working out what fuse gos were) when the nomeber dose drop you have found the circut that is at ault and you can make the choise of operating without this cercut or fixing it

good luck
