Question about 1995 Ford Windstar
I noticed the open door light is always on and this is after an attempted break in a couple of weeks ago. The interior lights (roof mounted) will stay on now after the keys are removed. I believe the problem is the sliding door censor is damaged and so the car thinks that the door is always open. I have to disconnect the bat. cable when not driving the vehicle or the battery will be killed. how do I get another censor (cheap) and where do I replace it at. I hope its not the contacts on the door, but if so, same question.
Clean the contacts on the side door with course steel wool then lube them with die-electric grease, avail from most parts stores or the dealer, this should take care of the problem, if not u will have to remove the rivets and install new switch contacts both on the door and the door jam.
