Question about 1995 Ford F150 Styleside Regular Cab

1995 F-150 Seedometer jumps while driving,low power

Seedometer jumps while driving and seems like it doesn't have as much power as normal. It sometimes chokes off when I release the clutch. I have to give it alot of gas to start off. It seems to run fine once I get going.

First off check the speedo cable or the speed sensor if equipped - // the low power could be
#1 - Mass airflow sensor needs cleaned (this is very common) use only the CRC mass airflow sensor cleaner and nothing else - this is very easy to do, hell you wont even get dirty (10-15 mins max) you will also need a T20 torx bit to remove it. repeat every 6000 miles

#2 - IAC valve needs cleaned or replaced - (this to is pretty easy) clean with carb cleaner inside the intake and the valve

#3 - throttle position sensor - also easy, just change it (no maintenace )

#4 - fuel pressure regulator - change it

and finally but first thing to do is look for vaccuum leaks

I have a 95 chevy cheyenne. My ac pump doesn't

Have you checked to see if the system has enough freon ?
If the system is low or empty the low pressure switch will prevent power from going to the compressor clutch.

I just replaced the altenator and now the seedometer is jumping

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
The problem will surely be on the speed sensor or cable. It may just have reached it's break point and alternator replacement has nothing to do with it.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

It MAY,,,,,, be the start of a power steering pump problem.Just maybe. The pumps can moan and groan without leaking,so keep an eye on it.Hope this helps.

Battery needle jumps normal to low (power draw) then all normal

Your voltage regulator is sticking a little.
I'm not sure but I think it is built into the alternator on these fords which means you may need to start thinking about a new one (either voltage regulator or alternator depending.)

your gauge is faulty. yours is operated by a circuit board and and not a cable. it will have to be replaced by a new one.
