Question about 1998 Dodge Durango
Recently replaced heater core. After dash reinstalled and battery reconnected, the engine will crank but will not start. the gauges are all at low with the key on (even the fuel and battery gauges) fuel tank is 3/4 full and battery is fully charged. The odometer starts flashing after about 15 seconds after turning ke to run. the security light comes on after turning ignition off and removing the key. This usually happens after about 30 seconds. Manually locking and unlocking the drivers door has no affect on the security light. Is it possible that the security system has disabled the ignition and fuel pump? If so how can I overcome this?
Any knowlegable feed back is appreciated. THANK YOU!

The heater core is removable from under the right side of the instrument panel.
Plug the heater core tubes to avoid spilling coolant in the passenger compartment during removal.
Exploded view of a common heater core and case assembly
If necessary, loosen and remove the under dash cabin light retaining bolt
With the bolt removed, the light and housing may be repositioned out of the way
On some early model vehicles, the cabin light mounted under the dash may interfere with cover removal. If necessary, loosen the retaining bolt and reposition the light housing with the wiring attached.
Be sure that all are removed before attempting to remove the cover. If necessary, unbolt and reposition all/part of the dashboard for better access.
