Question about 1999 Volkswagen Golf
My dad bought a 2000 bora 90 bhp tdi, it has done 200,000 but seemed pretty tidy and was cheap, it had a new clutch and recent second hand fuel pump, it cut out and my dad reveiled it needed a fuel pump again replaced that new timing belt timed it up and was fine for a week, and then i parked it up for 30 minits or so went to start it tried but didnt start smoke looked unburnt very white and a lot of it tried bumping it but no joy, i thought glowplugs but the engine was still hot so it would have definitelly bumped, had it running with damp start but same again once you cut it out would not start back up, my dads running out of ideas he reckons it cud be some sensor near the flywheel but i dont know any help to eliminate and try would be useful because i havent really got the money for a dealership bill thanks

Possibly air in the fuel lines. Possibly Fuel Injection Pump Case Relief Valve has come apart (funny looking ,10mm bolt with 2 round sides on left side of Injection Pump). Great site for TDIs - www.tdiclub.com - forum thread on this very problem. Great people will help get you going.
