A trick to try first and this works the majority of the time. Take a can of WD40 and open each door and spray a generous amount into each latch on the side of the door. Then open and close the door several times. Most of the time this will unstick the door adjar switch.

It can be anyone of the 4 doors. The only sure way to tell is to remove door door panel and unhook the switch and see if light goes out. Sometimes you can tell if the light flickers when you close the door. But this does not always work.Usually though it winds up being one of the doors that gets open and closed the most like drivers door.

It twist clips into the bottom of the latch assembly. It has a ball on the very end that when latch closes it pushes ball down inside the switch. It is kinda hard to see,you have to have door panel removed and look around the back window run at the bottom of the latch.

On a 2004 Grand Marquis The door ajar light won't

There is usually a grounding (or sometimes a power circuit completion) switch on the door pillar that needs to be adjusted to either make or break a ground circuit or make or break a power circuit. Usually a grounding switch will have only one wire and a power circuit will have two wires.

Dome light inside 2009 mercury marquis won't go off. What can I do?

Common Mercury problem, a sticking door ajar switch inside one of the door latches. Get you some WD40 and spray inside all the door latches making sure you use a good amount on each, operate each quite a bit, 5-10 times to let the WD40 work on each. This should take care of the problem. Repeat if you need to get results.

Air suspension does not activate, pump is good, solenoids work, there is a new height sensor and a good relay installed

It is possible you have a bad door Sensor. The height control will only deflate when it senses a door is open. It will pump up when the doors are closed. Although the door ajar light is not on, there are 3 wires in each door jam switch. Its possible the 1 that runs the Air Ride is the only wire not working.

You need a special scanner to work on the Air ride and may have to go to a Dealer to scan it. Most Independent shops do not want to spend money for a test device for only one brand of car.

Where is the door chime on a1995 mercury grand marquis

It's the same as the lights left on and the key in door open its called the generic eletronic module and it's in the dash to the right of the steering collum. Why do you want to know as all kinds of things are run by this device and it costs plenty. If it keeps chimbing and you want to stop it all kinds of things don't work with it unplugged ( interior light's cruise control, air conditioner and heat,Radio,Automatic headlights. Daytime running lights) If its saying the doors open, it is! Just because it looks closed doesn't mean that they are the most likly is the driver door and the switch is in the door latch that holds the door closed. The switches rust break fall off or get disconnected. worset problem is the wire from the switch breaks in the door hinge area and the wire will need to be found and replaced or repaired. The modules seldom fail unless submererised in water or the battery hooked up backwards or jumped off wrong battery cable removed while the engine in running but alot of this other stuff will work wrong too.

Door ajar light on!!!

the switches are in the door jambs around the hinges. One by one give each one a shot of penatrating oil and work the switch manually with your thumb, watching the int. light at the same time until it works freely. Please post your results.
