Grinding sound on pressing clutch in at high revs

Re Toyota Yaris 2005 Colour Collection 1300cc -
The Sound started recently after a small front end shunt. The bodywork has been repaired through insurance, but now when pressing the clutch in to change up from 1st to 2nd and 3rd gears, when pulling away at speed and high revs, there is a grinding or metallic sound that was not there before. The gears change ok, so I do not suspect the clutch, as the sound is there immediately on pressing the clutch in and before changing gear when the engine is idling at high revs only, not at low revs. Could my accelerator be sticking so when I press my clutch in and take my foot off the accelorator, the engine continues at high revs making a distinct noise?

I have exactly the same problem, my car is still under warrenty and the dealership is just saying there is a 'rattle' from the engine and nothing wrong. However I obviously don't want my warrenty to run out and discover there is a serious problem that needs attention.

The grinding sound may be a throw out bearing or the pilot bearing. The sticking throttle problem sounds like a linkage or cable binding up from possibly damage due to the impact from the accident.

It sounds like the vacume hose on your power brake booster is leaking.
Its located on the firewall inside the engine conpartment.
Google search in "images" power brake booster for your model of car and see for yourseilf.good luck.

2005 Toyota Echo. front end noise (rattling/rumbling) when I am stopped at a light.

I had this on my 2002 Yaris, with 103,000 miles on the clock. I found that the rear engine mounting rubber bush was partly torn and the charcoal cannister was loose (not inserted in bracket properly). I installed a used rear engine mount off e-bay, straightened the cannister bracket and inserted it properly. Knocking noise at low revs now sorted.

HI, I own a 1997 Toyota Rav 4 4 wheel drive 4 cyl, the other day it started to make this loud noise coming from the front sounds like a grinding noise, when you put the clutch in the sound goes away any...

it sounds like it is either your clutch or the throw out bearing. either way you more than likely need to have to install a complete clutch kit (pressure plate, clutch disc, throw out bearing, and have your flywheel resurfaced.
