This one is hidden fairly well. It took me a minute to find it. It is located on the passenger side of the engine fairly high up just to the left of the gray plastic cover. There may be a wiring harness covering the lid. Another way to find it is to find the washer fluid cap. Go 6 inches to the right (towards the drivers side) and 3 inches towards the back of the vehicle. Good luck.

Buick Regal supercharger 1998, while driving along the steering wheel tighten hard to turn, after pouring power steer fluid under the hood, the temperature light came on,the car ran hot, no smoke.

Do you mean the engine overheat warning? The power steering problem is most likely a defective steering rack, they always act up when hot due to internal seal leakage and fluid bypassing the seal.

My steering wheel will hardly turn, what do you think the problem could be?

Hello staffordpain, without knowing what you may have already tried the first thing I would do is check the power steering fluid level. If you find that the fluid is below where it should be, be very careful NOT to overfill it. Your owner's manual will usually tell you if you need dot-3, or dot-4 power steering fluid.
Secondly, make sure that your belt is not worn out, make sure that the belt has good enough contact with the pully on the power steering pump to keep it moving, without slipping.
Thirdly, if you find your fluid is low, see if you have any leaks under your vehicle, you may also want to look under the hood. Sometimes, due to crossmembers under a vehicle the fluid may not make it to the ground.
If non of the foregoing applies, you may want to stop at an auto shop and have the power steering unit checked.
Good luck my friend!

go to and search for a power steering pump for your car. print a picture of it. open your hood and find the thing under your hood which looks just like it, unscrew the top and put your fluid in there. it is 16 years old, do not be surprised if the pump or the hoses have gone bad and the fluid does you no good

You need to check the the power steering resevior located under the hood, the fluid level may be low, and a possible leak, if low you will need to add some power steering fluid, the fuel consumption maybe in need of a tune-up oil change, spark, plugs, fuel filter, air filter.
