In order to remove the door panel you need to remove two screws located under the top piece of the door handle. You will also need to remove the speaker and unplug the mirror adjuster if it's power if it's manual it can be removed by a couple screws. Also if it has manual window the window crank must be removed (you'll see a little ring on the inside which slides up or dow or over depending on the position of the crank and then it just slides off the splines) Then you need to remove the allen screws around the outside (they hold the panel to the clips in the door) The little plastic clips always break but are easy to replace. You will also have to unscrew the door lock pin at the top. Be careful when removing the plastic door panel material if you plan to reuse it (this helps eliminate outside noises) Some people only cut a small hole to access where they need and then tape it back shut others remove the entire thing.

Hi the panel has inside plastic clips that usually break but they are cheap and wont affect your panel just dont pull your panel to hard as it wont sit flat again try to release the clips.

could be the plastic clip that fits between the handle and the lock inside the car or the clip that connects the outside handle to the catch.you will need to take off door panel to see which one.only self tappers/clips,use a wide flat screwdiver for the clips so you dont break them(easy to do )

My door catch on the front passenger side is stuck in a strange lock position and now I can't even shut the door. to be noted the interior door handle for that side did not work this is an 8th generation...

If I understand you correctly and I think I do, the door catch or sometimes called "door check"can break. When this happens the catch rod comes out of position and wedges against the door jam. The door catch will have to be replaced. The door panel will have to come off to replace it, so while your in there you can reattach the inner door handle cable back into place to fix your inoperative inner door handle concern. -hope this helps.

Inside driver's door release catch will not open door. have to wind down window & use outside handle to open. Any thoughts please. Volvo S70 T5 is car.

The little rod from the inside release catch to the door lock has been broken/come loose.

Take out the door panel and see what is the problem. Then either fix it or let someone to fix it.

behind the inside door handle by removing the inner cover you well find two screws remove them by the inside grab handle on the door there is a small rubber mat remove the mat on the upper right corner is a trim piece it just pops off once the screws and trim is removed use a small screw driver and go below the door panel and wedge it between the panel & door and pull back on the screw driver until you here a pop the door panel is held on by plastic clips :caution--when removing the panel DO NOT YANK ON THE DOOR PANEL. THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE IS STILL ATTACHE D TO THE DOOR PANEL. if you dont unhook this cable before removing door panel you will break the plastic end of the cable if you break this you will have to replace the cable then this well involve removing the latch because the cable is hooked inside the latch hope this helps

2000 lx 470 driver door panel

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Door not closing, mechanism not ingaging

Hi. Have you checked the "child safety" catch the prevents the door being opened from the inside? That might be in the wrong position and causing a problem. I had a problem on my 93 Golf and I got it working again by exercising the catch mechanism with a screwdriver - pushing the locking mechanism- the greasy bit on the edge of the door - up and down numerous times and lubricating it again.

Hope this helps. If this "fixes ya", I'd appreciate a rating for my reply, If not, please delay the rating and add a comment with any extra info you have and I will try to think of something else.

Cheers, D.
