Question about 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
My 1997 S10 pickup just died on me yesterday. I thought I was runningout of gas when I pressed the accelerator because it hesitated badlythen shut off. I pushed it to a nearby gas station and put in 4gallons. I then started the truck. It ran for about 2-3 seconds afterit turned over, then it sputtered, shook and shut off. This sequencehappened every time I tried to start it. Is it the fuel filter? Same problem. Changed fuel filter, plugs, wires, air filter, used fuel injector cleaner. Should I clean the egr valve? I am a novice and don't want to screw it up.
When its in that not running stage or it dies you need to try and shoot a little starting fluid or gasoline into the throttle body or air cleaner and try and start it again .. If it starts then we know you have a fuel pump going out .. and its in the gas tank .. thanks Jerry and holler if you need more..
