I would first do a cylinder leak down test- to see if the engine is any good
& all the valves & cylinders hold compression before install

You need to check the old flywheel ,as to where it was before removal,
I guess that was the question,if it has to do with cylinder recognition
& crank sensor-- if that applies

SOURCE: 97 dodge neon timing belt broke while going down

I do not have good news for you.
According to the Gates Timing Belt guide 2002 Edition, both engines offered in the Dodge Neon are interference engines.
This means that your engine has likely sustained sgnificant valve, cylinder head or even piston damage. Have you tested the compression?
It is probably least expensive to buy a used engine, change its timing belt and replace your engine with that one.

SOURCE: how to replace a engine mount on dodge neon 05

There are 4 motor mounts on a Neon. You need a jack to support the bottom of the motor with a block of wood on it. 2 are easily replaceable, but there is one that goes to the middle of the front of the engine that is tricky, plus the transmission mount is accessed after removing several components, like the battery and tray. It may be better to have a professional take care of those "tricky" mounts.

SOURCE: dodge neon sxt 2003 engine vibration while increasing rpm

Well i have s similar sound but im not sure if its the same. For me i just found out that its a bracket i never put back on. The motor mounts if you get them at an autozone which gives you a life time warrenty runs about 30 bucks and theres only 3 upper passenger and lower passenger and one on the drive side which is connected to the transmission. there is some what of a 4th one but that one never really goes bad and its the worst one of them all. Its located in between the 2 on the passenger side you have to move the engine outa the way to get to it and take it out. Im not sure if autozone or any place sells that one but like i said its probably still ok. i have 170000 mile on my neon and the mounts still good and trust me my cars been through alot and i mean alot its flied over cannels anyway yea so thats what i know about the mounts im not sure why the noise though. I say check the motor mounts if any are ripped change the ripped ones all at once trust me. Oh and i didnt the change on the motor mounts myself so it was free there not hard to change the first 3 i mean maybe the transmission one too all you need is a jack underneath it to keep it leveled right.

Window replacement in a 2000 hyundai tiburon?

Had the same problem and the motor is pricey. We went to a junk yard and found the same car and bought the door. We took it to a local small mechanic and he took the one and replaced it to ours. Never had another problem with the window, If you can find the same card in a junk yard it would be the cheapest way. hope that helps.

Rusted crossbar underneath truck near transmission , Where can I find a replacement?

In my 2000 Bravada I went to the Olds/Gm dealer and bought it for $100. I went to junk yard after junk yard to find it but found out that it is very common for that bar to be rusted through. I even had to jack up my transmission just to get it in the correct way. I even went to the local Walmart and bought some undercoating kinda like rino lining. Took a full day to get it sprayed and really covered. The next day I was able to put it in. It is not easy to do but it can be done.

Took 2000 dodge intrepid 3.2 engine to shop. NO heat. they sd it was the ac/heat control panel. they replaced it, when i picked my car up, still no heat. went and got another part from junk yard, now will...

the fact that after you changed the part from the junk yard it blew warm air indicates that the heater core is not the problem
could be the heater control is not fully opening or the junk yard replacement part is faulty

what do you mean sounds loud?? it it knocking really bad?? or what kind of sound is it?
but yes you can replace pistons, and connecting rods.. but i need to know a little more
about the sound, because if you need to replace pistons, your better off to get a junk yard
engine and put in it, it would save you a boat load of money.

Not getting compression on cylinders 1 and 3

Hi!
A blown head gasket. worn piston rings or valves not seating properly can be the cause, In either case, the engine has to be taken apart to overhaul it. The thing to consider money wise, is wether to have your engine overhauled or buying a used engine form a Junk Yard. Most of the time the second option is quicker and cheaper.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Need to know where are the timing marks

I don't know what engine you have, but all engines have timing marks on them. One on the crank will line up the engine to TDC on the number one piston, with the cover/s removed, you can see the cams aligned to their marks if the crank is on it's mark. A lot of cars use the same heads, cams on different engines, so they have more than one mark, when your crank is on TDC, the cam marks will be the ones you need. Either a diamond or a dot , or a slash. If your belt has broken and the engine ran for more than 2 seconds, take it to the junk yard, It will be shot. Hope this helps.

Have a 2000 ford ranger, 2.5 engine, timing belt broke put new one on and now cant get it to start

Damn. Bad news friend. That truck has what is known as an "interference engine" Which meant that if the timing belt brakes while the engine is running the pistons will hit the open valves and destroy them and possibly damaging the pistons as well.

So now you either need to do 1 of 3 things, 1 have the head removed and rebuilt, 2 have the head removed and replaced with a new/used one, or 3 replace the engine entirely.

If you replaced the belt yourself then you are probably capable of replacing the head yourself. Just get one from a junk yard, swap it for the old one and your good to go. While you have the head off take a look at the pistons to make sure they are ok.

Personally I would just swap the engine for one from the boneyard. They are relatively cheap. I'm sure this is the last thing you wanted to hear but unfortunately until you do one of the 3 things i mentioned she will never run again. Good luck, If you have any more questions shoot me an email [email protected]
