It also makes the sound, and you can feel it by your feet in both front seats, when the steering wheel is turned while sitting still. It is the front wheel drive model.
I have the same problem on an '04 model. I'm replacing the Stabilizer link bars. That is here my noise is coming from. Should be able to replace with a minimume amount of effort. Two bolts and thats about it. I'll let you know how it works out.
Hey you squeekers,
Go to https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carco...
these are replacement link pins, stabilizer link bars or whatever someone might call them. Notice the price. I think $300 to replace is a bit excessive.
Anyway Good Luck.

This can be Caused by 1 of 2 Things. I would get your Power Steering Pump checked out or even check the Fluid in it. Also, How Many Miles are on the Shocks on your Car? Worn Shocks can act the Same way if they have been on for too Long. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

I think it has about 65k on it. Maybe 70k. Where is the power steering fluid? Are there any other signs to look out for that would indicate the pump to be out?
Well we finally took it in to the dealer and they said it was the strut mounts. Nothing urgent and I think they did something to make it quiet for now.
Mine too creaks when turning the steering wheel. I was told by Midas last May that it was the front end link pins, which they could replace for $300. Since it wasn't a safety issue, I let it go but am now tired of listening to the noise.
