I have a 1990 Toyota 4Runner with a check engine light that has come on intermittently the past couple of weeks. Can you diagnose it if I conduct the paperclip test also?

Go out to the vehicle, and open the hood. Locate a small grey box near the firewall, that can be opened. Inside the lid of the box, you will see a connector chart. Using a paperclip, jump terminals Te1 and E1. Turn on the key, and observe the Check Engine light. It will flash, then pause, then flash, then pause a bit longer, and repeat the sequence of flashes. Count the flashes, and get the results back to me for more info. Example:

    2 flashes - pause - 4 flashes would be a Code 24. Thanks.

Can a diagnostic connector on 1995 Toyota 4 runner be jumped over with jumper wire to get check engine codes?

There is probably a way to access codes by using a jumper and causing the engine checklight or an integral led to flash in groups. I can't say which pin or pins need jumping.

I suggest you ask the question of google and click on the youtube video.

My 95 Toyota 4runner looses power and the check engine light comes on after I first start the engine and it shifts into 2nd.

The check engine light is the cpu telling you that there is a fault in the parameters of the sensors it continually monitors. Have a fault code reading done and replace the faulty sensors

The vsc trac and vsc off, plus the check engine just came up on the dash board. What do I do to make them disappear? Its a toyoto 4runner 2004.

For some reason on Toyota and some Lexus vehicles certain check engine light CEL issues also result in the ECU lighting up the vsc trac and vsc off lights. The ECU actually switches these anti skid and anti lock brake systems off and the lights are to remind you that they are disabled. 1) Check that the fuel cap is on securely 2) Check the oxygen sensors on the exhaust, check that connections are clean and there are no missing wires. 3) Have someone check the on-board diagnostic codes if the CEL is still on

Where do I find the sensors to replace them? I need a diagram.

It is located on the exhaust pipe. One on each bank normally front and rear. If you go to autozone, they will do a free diagnostic and let you know exactly which one is bad. They are easy to get to and replace, you just need to know which one is bad.
