Question about 1988 Dodge B250
Ok, I got this van from my Grandad, who drove it daily in town, and twice a month out of town, never had a problem. I get this and on a trip it starts leaking anti-freeze, found a little ceeping hole in the line from the intake to the water pump, so I change it, I had also changed the water pump as well. I started driving it again and on short (5-10 mile) trips it does fine but when I drive a distance(10-?miles) and I go to slow down to stop it wil stall, after I get it running again, I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running at a slow or stoped speed... Someone told me it was the fuel filter, is this the problem or is it something else?
If it runs at highway speeds then I doubt it's fuel filter. I'd check the operation of the idle speed motor. Here's a link to a diagram so you'll know what to look for & what to do. just scroll down to your engine (fig# 2 ) & click on small picture to expand it.
