Question about 1995 Cadillac DeVille
OK so a little over a month ago im cruising Up
I-5 towards portland and my battery gauge begins to fluctuate and
eventually I loose all power and my car dies, then it wont start again
I originally think that its the battery posts because they are loose so
I get those tightened and jump and get on the road again, not more than
5 minutes later the car dies and I take it to a dealership in Albany
and they tell me that its my alternator so I get it replaced and it
costs me about 400 plus the cost of tow.
Everything works for about a week and then the same thing happens to me again battery slowly dies while im driving on new years eve in downtown portland, how embarassing huh. so I get it towed to another dealership where they replace the battery posts and some other stuff for like 200 bucks, but they forget to hook my amp for my stereo back up so I stop by car toys and they hook it up but that very same night im having the same issue.
By this time im fed up and take it to the mechanic I always take it to and trust back home in eugene. They tell me its the ignition switch and they charge me 800 bucks including 350 troubleshooting fee what a rip off when I find out im still having the same issue they take the car back and tell me that I got a faulty alternator from the dealership and that its still under warranty. So, then I take it to a different dealership in eugene and they say its not the alternator its just the battery post I got from car toys is stripped and they replace it for about 120, and now here I am a lot more broke and a lot more frustrated driving home from the dealership in eugene and the damn battery light fluctuates again the car hasnt died yet but im assuming its going to, Im just about out of options I really dont know what to do other than take it back to the same dealership and tell them to fix it again.
Has anyone had the same issue? Or possibly know what it could be? if anything, also let me know if your interested in a 2002 gmc yukon denali for sale with recently replaced battery alternator and ignition switch.
Check 2 Things. First, Check the Serpentine Belt for Tightness, If the Belt Tensioner is not Holding the Belt Tight Enough it will not Allow the Alternator to Charge the Battery. Second, Check the Blue Remote Lead Wire on your Amp, If this is not connected Properly it could drain your Battery Pretty Fast. The Blue Remote Lead wire makes the Amp Turn Off and On with the Ignition Switch in ACC and Start. Let me know if these are good! Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
