Shift knob 2001 dakota

I have a 5 speed dakota, 2001. I want to put in an aftermarket shift knob. Yet, I'm not sure. How would one take off the current shift knob? it seems irreplaceable. I highly doubt it is. but help would be nice.

I have a 2001 Dakota Sport ex-cab 4x4 3.9 5 speed with 3.55 gears. I get about 15 mpg around town. About rite? pcm # is 56040232 ac. Is this the latest and greatist software or flash code? Looking to find...

unfortunialy 15 to 17 is about right. You can improve gas millage by adding a K&N filter also by putting flow master 50 series has a slight rummble but much more quite the 30 or 40 series. It will improve the **** power as well you will only see about 1.5 to 1.9 mpg gain how ever. BEST OF LUCK P.S. not sure on the code someone else im sure will know the answer on here though.

I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota 5 speed. The gears are

im not 100% but i think that truck has a hydraulic clutch. if it does for sure then check the fluid level if its a cable or linkage type then it may be out of adjustment. Ether way (low on fluid or out of adjustment) the clutch may not be fully disengaged while your trying to shift. Start there before getting to far into it.

99 dodge dakota wont shift from first gear but also fuel light is on i bought from auction and put 5 gal of gas and needle moved a lil would this make the truck not shift?

No the fact that your vehicle is low on gas should have nothing to do with the shifting of the transmission. You are dealing with two separate issues.

Manual 2001 sentra I wanted to replace the shift knob

you may just need to put some more elbow grease in to it. Stock shifters have the tendency to really stick after a while. Be sure though to turn counter clockwise.

How do i take off the shift knob in my 1999 dodge dakota?

There is a nut that you have to loosten on the the shifter below the knob. pull the rubber boot down and you should see it. If not put a rag over the knob before using channel locks

Remove the shift knob in a 1999 dodge dakota

The shift knob on a manual trans should twist off. Sometimes it takes a bunch of force. Are you replacing the knob? Then channel locks will work fine.
