Could be needing aligned after all that It does move the toe in and it could have knocked the alignment off if not done properly .. they have to count the turns on the tie rods to put the rack and pinion on .. usually needing alignment afterwards. just a thought if it was ok before.. thanks Jerry

2006 malibu ss traction light on and tranny shifting hard reset computer shifts fine

The error could be in transmission abs airbags or engine among others. As many modules these days is staggering. Suggest take it to dealer. Not many mechanic shops have the ability to check codes or repair suspension , airbag or other manufacturer specific design ed systems. And you will get much more knowledgeable mechanic. Could be as simple as wheel bearing loose, most prelevent cause, but without codes from computer making lights come on, were dead in water. Transmission in limp home mode makes me lead to guess, ya just a guess, to say you are missing a speed sensor. Signal. Now car will still start without crank sensor, tourque converter input speed sensor, trans output speed or any of the four abs wheel speed. Like I said loose wheel bearing causes mag pick up wheel speed sensor to miss counts, ad has predetermined amount of pulsed electrical signals it produces, when one not equal to others then pops code. Good luck write what code is found and where. Thx

Had new rack and pinon boots replaced on 2000 3.5 RL now power steering seems to pull a lot to left. Repairman said I need an alignment? Do you normally have to get an alignment when you get new rack and...

Yes it is very possible the tie rod adjustment was not completely returned to it's previous position (not perfected by eye) after removing to install new boots; note be sure to ask that inner tie rod seals are ok, otherwise the boot replacement is only a temporary shield for the leak.

How do you fix the power steering of a 2006 chevy malibu, when drive the steering wheel locks up and its very hard to turn.

a few possibilities.
Low power steering fluid. check for correct amount on pump filler measureing guage.

Loose power steering belt. check to see if the belt slips over the power steering pulley while trying to turn the steering wheel. may need an assistant.

last, but most expensive. Rack and pinion steering bar is defective and needs replacing.

How fix a rocket pinon oil leak

Rocket Pinion? thats a new one, no such thing ; ) .....I think you mean Rack and Pinion. (Steering Rack Assy) you just need to buy a remanufactured unit at any parts store, after replacement, you will need to have the front eng aligned. I would recommend a repair shop do this for you.

How do you unlock the radio on a chevy malibu maxx?

You could drive to the dealer and they can help you get your radio unlocked and working again. If the dealer want's to charge you a crazy amount, you can log on to www.radio-code.com. There is a fee but it's much less then the dealer and you can get your radio working again and the instructions and codes for your radio to keep, unlike the dealer where they will just unlock it and return the car to you. Good luck and hope this helps.
