Question about 1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

My 94 s10 4.3 vortec was running very rough

It was running before i changed the egr valve....after replacing it with a new egr the engine will not start....any suggestions...please help.. I have a 1995 s10 with a 4.3 everything is firing great the gas is working great the compression is great changed the timing chain and gears wat else could it be

Make sure the distributor wires are hooked up and making a goodconnection at the base of the distributor. Also make sure the coil wire is fully in the socket. Make sure no wires got pinched for the relays. Hope this helps;

How to test an egr valve on a 94 topaz

Apply vacuum with a hand held vacuum pump, the engine will stall out or run really rough. If you have a very rough idle wet your fingertips and touch the lower part of the valve , if it is leaking then you will hear a sizzle and the valve will be very hot, replace the valve..

94 4.3 vortec intake egr port clogged

You must have an egr valve for this engine to work.Sounds like you are getting oil blow-by combustion causing carbon in the exhaust which may do due to a faulty crankcase ventilation valve, bad piston rings, etc. Whatever the cause, oil combustion produces the carbon, and you will need to fix that.

I dont know which direction to put the egr valve back on my 94 s10 blazer 4.3 liter vortec engine

the best way to tell is to find the metal hose that screws on and ajust side accordongly

94 GMC Sonoma 2wd 4.3 6 cylinder TBI. Rough idle, slow... then stalls. New iac valve, egr vacuum solenoid, and new gas tank fuel pump and filter. Battery will hold some charge After being jumped, but...

could be alternator if it doesnt charge your battery your sensors and computor dont get the right voltage and runs rough and then stalls

Follow your air intake to your MAF sensor the egr vavle should be behind it ...hope this helps

Do a compression test on all of your cylinders when it is cold. Backfiring is a sign of a worn valve seat allowing mixed fuel and air (lit by spark) to be forced back into the intake. You will probably see compression loss on one or more cylinders.

Also... there is a chance that the EGR valve is not totally seated when the engine is cold with just a small blow by. The EGR valve seats coke up over time with black gunk.

I have a chevy blazer 94 S10 still quit on the road.

How is it running before it quits onyou. This could be the culprit of an egr valve. How many miles on thevehicle. The egr seems to die on a certain mileage pattern. Also youcould start by cleaning the egr valve before replacing it. This couldvery well help the situation, but this is just a guess. Hope thishelps!!

I hope this helps, I have had this problem 1 other time.
The EGR valve you bought was a negative and it calls for a positive. Or visa/ verse. If that is the case, it will not start. There are 2 different EGR's for 1994, CFI & TBI, both are the type of injection and are not interchangable on the EGR valves.

Idle problems

if it is a vortec 4.3l they were real common for egr valve problems. you can remove the egr check for carbon stuck in the plunger. after cleaning reinstall with a new gasket. New gaskets with a screen are available to keep this problem from happening again the standard part number is VG57. When carbon gets stuck in the egr valve it causes a vaccum leak and rough idle. please rate this if it helps
