Brake lights stay on even when car is off.

I was walking up on my car from behind and I noticed my brake lights were on and the car wasn't even on let alone the brake pedal being pushed in. I tried starting the car and driving around a little bit, took the fuse out and inspected it, looked all over the brake pedal. nothing looked wrong. when I press the brakes down and let go, the lights don't do anything but stay on. I disconnected the battery and then reconnected it, and still nothing. they wont turn off even when the car is turned off. There's no way to tell if I'm stepping on the brakes, it looks like I'm riding the brakes the whole time.

Brake lights stay on

mcdevito75 here, Are you sure your haedlite switch is off, if it"s on your brake lite will also stay on. However it could be the brake light switch out of adjustment. It"s located on the brake pedal, with your foot behind the brake pedal gently lift up on the brake pedal and see if the brake lights go out if they do or even if they don"t, have yoyr local shop check it out.
